Honors, Pre-AP, and Advanced Placement (AP) Courses
Prerequisites
In order to qualify for Honors, Pre-AP or AP courses at St. Michael's
High School, a student must have a grade of A or B in the prerequisite
Honors, Pre-AP or AP course or an A in the prerequisite regular course.
A student who does not meet these requirements must have a teacher
recommendation before going into an Honors, Pre-AP or AP class.
Grade Point Scale
All Honors, Pre-AP or AP classes offered for senior high credit
are graded on the following grade point scale:
- A = 5 pts
- B = 4 pts
- C = 3 pts
- D = 1 pt
- F = 0 pt
AP Exams
Please note: All students taking a course designated as Advanced
Placement (AP) are highly encouraged to take the AP exam at the end
of the school year. A non-refundable AP exam fee will be assessed
to the student's account if the student signs up to take the
exam. The 2006 AP exam fee is $82.00.
