Honors and AP Requirements
Prerequisites:
In order to qualify for Honors, Pre-AP, or AP courses at St. Michael's High School, a student must have a grade of A or B in the prerequisite Honors, Pre-AP, or AP course, or an A in the prerequisite regular course. A student who does not meet these requirements must have a teacher recommendation before going into an Honors, Pre-AP or AP class.
Grade Point Scale:
All Honors, Pre-AP or AP classes offered for senior high credit are graded on the following grade point scale:
A = 5 pts
B = 4 pts
C = 3 pts
D = 1 pt
F = 0 pts
AP Exams:
Please note that students taking courses designated as Advanced Placement (AP) are highly encouraged to take the AP exam at the end of the school year. A non-refundable AP exam fee will be assessed to the student’s account if the student signs up to take the exam. The 2010 AP exam fee is $86.
