Featured Teacher: Kimberly Mier

Kimberly Mier has been a teacher at St. Mike's for three years. She teaches Life Science. Her father, Joe Mier, also teaches science at St. Mike's.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a marine biologist.

What is your favorite animal?
My favorite animal is a monkey.

What is your favorite color?
My favorite color is pink.

What is your most marked characteristic?
I have a good sense of humor.

What do you think are your greatest faults?
I think that one of my greatest faults is being impatient.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Spending time with my family on the beach.

Who are your favorite writers or poets?
I enjoy listening to Joe Hayes. I also like to read books by Ann Rule.

Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
My favorite hero of fiction is Superwoman.

Who are your favorite characters in history?
I enjoyed learning about Pancho Villa in New Mexico history.

Who are your heroes in real life?
My heroes in real life are my mom, dad, and mother-in-law.

What quality do you most admire in people?
The quality that I most admire is honesty and kindness.

Where would you most like to travel?
I would like to travel to Hawaii and Italy.

If you had not become a teacher, what would you have like to have done instead?
I would have liked to have either been a lawyer or a marketer.

What do you most value in friends?
I value honesty, humor, and kindness.

What to your mind would be the greatest of misfortunes?
To be in poor health and lonely.

What is your favorite word?
My favorite word is “no worries.”

What is your greatest pet peeve?
My greatest pet peeve is people who are ignorant.

What natural gift would you most like to possess?
I would like to have a natural talent for painting and writing.

It could be worse.

I am content.
