A Family for a Family: the Delgados of St. Mike’s
THE DELGADO FAMILY has been in Santa Fe for eleven generations. Gilbert Delgado (’46) will tell you that there was a Delgado in the first graduating class—Hillario A. Delgado (1908)—although research into the matter is on-going, with the help of Bro. Paul Walsh. So far, the list of Delgados who are SMHS alumni fills two columns on an 8½ x 11 sheet of paper. Alumna in Focus: Stephanie Louis
Stephanie Louis, a 2007 graduate of St. Mike’s, received her bachelor’s in Government this spring from Harvard University, where she was a member of the Crimson track team as well as the Kappa Alpha Theta women’s fraternity. Read more...

The Class of 2011 | Grads in Focus
On Friday, May 20, commencement ceremonies were held at St. Francis Cathedral. Ninety-eight percent of our new alumni are going to college—that’s 122 out of 125 students. (One student has secured a position with Santa Fe County.) Seventy-one percent will attend colleges and universities in New Mexico, and 29 percent will attend out of state schools.

Faculty and Staff Adventures
This summer Tom Ludzia, who teaches theology, was a national rider with LVs RIDE, a cross-country bicycle trip that raised money for Lasallian Volunteers, a program of the De La Salle Christian Brothers that sends volunteers to teach in economically underserved and overlooked communities. The ride began on June 14 in Astoria, Oregon, and ended on August 14 in Long Branch, New Jersey—a total of 3,400 miles, for which riders attempted to raise one dollar per mile. Mr. Ludzia surpassed his fundraising goal by almost $600. Read more...
