Overview

Navigating the college selection process can be challenging and scary for many families. St. Michael's offers comprehensive resources to assist families with this important undertaking, from the application process to applying for financial aid to college selection. St. Michael’s college counseling begins the day students start at St. Michael's, when students meet with a counselor one-on-one to create a plan. This plan will ensure that all students take the proper courses to meet criteria for college admissions.

St. Michael's administers the ACT Aspire test to 7th, 8th and 9th graders. This test assesses students' readiness for college, providing the student feedback on areas they may need additional work/assistance. Tenth and 11th graders take the PSAT while 12th graders take the ACT and/or the SAT. School counselors work with students to prepare them for these exams. They also review test results with students and help them understand how the results can be useful in future educational planning.

Graduates from the class of 2020 were offered more than $3 million in college scholarships and are attending 32 different colleges and universities.

Throughout the school year, St. Michael's hosts numerous admissions counselors from colleges and universities across the country. This provides our students the opportunity to learn more about higher education opportunities and meet with representatives from colleges they may be interested in attending.

St. Michael's also offers opportunities to assist parents as they support their student during the college selection process, including tips on completing applications, information on the vast scholarship opportunities that are available as well as completing financial aid forms.
