Michael Brandt graduated from St. Michael's in 1983, following his sister Suzanne (‘73) and his brother Marc (’79). After graduation, Mike attended New Mexico State University and received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering in 1989. Following that graduation, Mike accepted a job working at a maquilador which is a foreign owned factory, in Juarez, Mexico. Mike, Dora, and their new baby returned to Santa Fe in 1994, shortly after the death of his father, to help with the family business. In 2007 Mike decided to make a career change, and that is when he got into teaching. Mike received his teaching license after completing the Licensure program at Santa Fe Community College. Michael and Dora have two sons. Marc graduated in 2013 from St. Michael's and William will graduate in 2017.
Mike's favorite author is Deepak Chopra; favorite YouTube channels are minute physics and Vsauce. In his spare time Mike enjoys watching his children play sports and he follows the St. Louis Cardinals as well as the Dallas Cowboys.
