As a native New Mexican, Diahann Larson remained in state and received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Eastern New Mexico University.  In 1992, Ms. Diahann Larson began her career at St. Michael’s as a Physical Education and Life Sciences instructor and assistant coach for volleyball and basketball.  In 1997, she moved into the Activities Director/Assistant Athletic Director position as the first start into administrative responsibilities.  While attending the Lasallian Leadership Institute (2000-03), she became more involved in the Lasallian Mission and Ministry aspect of the school which led her to become Campus Minister and Assistant Principal.  Throughout her years at St. Michael’s, Ms. Larson has been very passionate about spreading the Lasallian mission through her interactions with faculty, staff, parents and students as she offers a variety of formation programs and retreats.   She has been honored by the school with the Brother Botulph award and by the region as the 2011 Distinguished Lasallian Educator for the District of New Orleans-Santa Fe.  She has served on the Mission and Ministry Council for the district, graduated from the regional formation Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies and was a 2009 participant in the international SIEL formation program in Rome.  Because of her “daily attention to accompany young people” and her “life inspired by Lasallian spirituality” Ms. Larson received the greatest honor by being named an affiliated member of the Christian Brothers in 2013.  She currently serves St. Michael’s as the Director of Lasallian Ministry.  She is a “wonderful ambassador for Christ who teaches minds and touches the hearts of everyone she meets.”
