Theology 11A

This course is designed to explore in greater depth the sacramental vision of the Catholic faith—the perspective that we experience God’s grace or presence in ourselves, in others, in the created world and in the Church.  In order to build up this understanding we will examine in detail each of the sacraments that the Church celebrates in its liturgical life.  We will consider each sacrament as an encounter with Christ and the sacramental tradition as a whole as a means for cultivating a Christian spirituality.  Students will be encouraged to bring their diverse personal experiences and social context into conversation with the course content.
