Substitute Teachers who are organized, inspiring, and
exceedingly motivated in their academic field.

St. Michael’s High School is a private Lasallian school in Santa Fe, New Mexico that educates grades 7 – 12. For many decades, St. Michael’s High School has been the school of choice for aspiring students in the community. Our student population has varied between 425 and 500 over the past few years. Quality education is our mission, and our students are one of our most valued assets of the school!

Our Teachers are the other -- for which several are tenured and are now getting ready to retire. We are seeking motivational teachers who want to help us fill those upcoming vacancies now and for the future. Please join us in our mission to keep the high school moving forward!

WHAT ST. MICHAEL’S OFFERS:

St. Michael’s High School schedule includes a full-time faculty position that will teach five (5), 50-minute classes per day with two (2) planning periods– totaling seven (7) each day.
St. Michael's has one of, if not one of the most, competitive salary schedules in New Mexico for qualified Teachers.
All full-time Teachers are offered a rich benefits package that includes participatory group medical, dental, and vision coverage, a school-funded life and disability package, a tiered tuition remission program and a 100% school-funded defined benefit pension package with an available 403b savings retirement plan.
Financial support is available for professional development, and faculty members are encouraged to take advantage of this benefit.

Substitute Teachers must meet different qualifying criteria prior to being able to substitute.
Substitute teachers have an individual class schedule and receive compensation for each class they fill in the substitute role.
Substitute teachers are ineligible for benefits and are considered seasonal employees of the school.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE TEACHING POSITIONS:

Experience in your realm of education specialty is imperative.
A master’s degree and/or a Ph.D. is strongly preferred, but not required.
An applicable New Mexico teaching license is required and will be verified.
Preferred candidates will possess a degree in their field or a relevant field as well as previous and relevant teaching experience.
The ideal candidate will have a deep and thorough understanding of a particular academic field and a clear understanding of how that field intersects with other areas.
Each academic curriculum is designed to provide students with the specific knowledge and life skills necessary to engage with education outside of the classroom and beyond high school.
Candidate must be willing to engage with other teachers, programs, and the administration to strengthen the entire school and the mission.
Teachers are expected to work independently and prepare their own courses but will also collaborate with members of their department, colleagues in other departments, and with staff, administrators, and the faculty of the high school to deliver the best education possible.
Faculty members are expected to participate in programs that support, grow, and encourage the Lasallian mission of the Christian Brothers.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT PROCESS:

All pre-screened, interviewed, and qualified candidates (full-time, part time, or seasonal) must consent to a criminal background check, education, and licensing verification, and complete a child protection and safety online training prior to hire.
