Hello, Horsemen,

Welcome to our Monday morning newsletter for Horsemen Athletics. We bring you exciting news from this weekend.

Congratulations to St. Michael's 8th grader, Chloe Grieco, for her outstanding achievement in capturing the individual girls state championship for cross country. She completed the race with an impressive time of 18:15.24, nearly a full second ahead of the second-place finisher. Kudos to all our girls who participated in the state event at Albuquerque Academy, with Rayna Baros (32nd) and Ansley King (33rd) also securing places in the top 50 runners. As a team, St. Michaels finished 8th place. Additionally, senior Landen Sandoval claimed first place in the boys 3A division, earning another state championship with a time of 16:01.04. Jeremiah Rodriguez (7th) and Marcus Crockett (16th) also secured spots in the top 50 runners, contributing to the boys' team finishing in 6th place at the state event.

Moving on, a big shoutout to our St. Michael's Horsemen volleyball team for securing the number one seed in the 2023 New Mexico high school volleyball state tournament. Following an impressive 20-3 season and a district championship, the ladies are set to compete in their first state tournament game on Thursday, November 16th, at 2:00 p.m.

Congratulations to all our athletes for their exceptional performances!

Warm regards,
