ANNOUNCES NEW SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

The Saint Michael’s High School (SMHS) Interim President Michael R. Sandoval Jr. is pleased to announce that Martin C. Sandoval (no relation) has been appointed as the new school principal of SMHS, effective July 1, 2023. Martin Sandoval has an extensive background with more than 30 years in education as both a teacher and school administrator.

“It is both an honor and a privilege to be able to serve as the new principal of St. Michael's High School. This is an incredible school with amazing students and an amazing staff. I appreciate the opportunity to give back to the school and community that has meant so much to me,” Martin Sandoval said.

Martin Sandoval is a 1988 graduate of St. Michael’s High School and is excited to return to his alma mater.  Martin Sandoval has most recently served as the Principal of Eldorado High School for the past 17 years and will retire from APS at the end of this current school year. Martin Sandoval is looking forward to moving back home and beginning the next chapter of his career.

“Martin Sandoval went through an extensive interview process that included Board, Faculty, Parent, and Student participation.  I received overwhelming support at all levels and look forward to him rejoining the SMHS family” said Interim President Michael Sandoval.  “There has been a tremendous amount of work already completed over the past 4 months under the direction of Brother James Joost FSC, and Martin will be able to pick up where Brother James left off and continue to move the school forward.”

Saint Michael's High School is blessed to have an intelligent and highly qualified individual take the reins to lead our staff, students, and families.
