Hey Parents - Get Involved!

PARENTS ASSOCIATION-PURPOSE

 

The Parents’ Association exists to promote the welfare of the students of St. Michael’s High School by stimulating communication and cooperation among parents, teachers, students, administration and extended school staff, and promoting cooperation and communication with other SMHS volunteer groups.

 

To develop ways and fundraise to support St. Michael’s High School academic programs, extra-curricular
activities, and special Tuition Assistance needs. The Parents Association shall sponsor programs directed
toward the further education and social interaction of members consistent with the Lasallian philosophy
of the school community.

 

The Parents Association meets monthly during the school year. If you are a parent, guardian or caregiver
of a child enrolled at St. Michael’s- YOU ARE A PART OF THE PARENTS ASSOCIATION, SO GET
INVOLVED!!

PARENTS ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES
The Parents' Association organizes and participates in many activities and events throughout the year such as the following:
 
  • Manages the concession stand at sports events.
  • Organizes the Twice is Nice School Uniform Clothing Sales for families.
  • Organizes faculty and staff appreciation luncheons and faculty awards.
  • Assists with school functions through our Hospitality Committee
  • Organizes Community events to bring families together.
  • Participates in having a voice regarding school policies.
 
Proceeds from activities that raise funds such Twice is Nice and Concessions are redirected back to
supporting students with Tuition Assistance. In addition, funds were raised to provide refillable drinking
fountains, benches in the hallways, the foosball table, ping pong table and microwave ovens in the
cafeteria.
The Parent’s Association has been instrumental in helping the SMHS administration. Examples include:
 
2025- $
2024- $20,000 given in Student Aid for Tuition Assistants
2023- $20,000 given in Student Aid for Tuition Assistants
2018: $7,500 to help remodel the 50’s center classrooms
2016: $7,500 to help remodel the cafeteria
2015: $15,000 to help remodel the concession stand in the lobby
2014: $15,000 to help remodel the library
