Chess Club

The Chess Club is open to all students, grades 7-12.  We have beginners, intermediates, and some very advanced players.  We play both timed and untimed matches.  We meet weekly for practice.  There are 4 interscholastic tournaments in Santa Fe each year.

 

Goals

The ancient game of chess teaches, among other things, strategy, tactical development, competition, and civility.  Students of all levels-complete beginner to advanced-play together, learn from one another, and compete against other schools.  All levels may compete, though competing is at each student’s option.
