Student Council
Saint Michael’s High School Student Council is the student government organization that plans and executes school events such as dances, pep rallies, fundraisers, and community service projects, in order to foster a positive atmosphere and enhance school pride and student engagement. Student Council also serves as a liaison between students and the faculty/administration in order to bring concerns and ideas to the decision makers.
Goals
The goal of the student council is to provide a voice for the student body, improve the school community by organizing events, and develop leadership skills, which impart real-world skills in students. These skills include planning, prioritizing, budgeting, human resource management, time management as well as learning to effectively communicate with peers and superiors.
Accomplishments of student council include the following:
1. Bridging the gap between families and our school by assisting the administration with the Five Core Meal and Open House in the fall
2. Welcoming the student body back to school in the fall by decorating the school and providing locker tags for every student
3. Planning and executing Homecoming including recognition of alumni
4. Demonstrating faculty appreciation during the Christmas season by providing them with treats, school supplies, and a surprise toy to be donated in their honor to a needy child
5. Conducting a food drive during the spring semester for needy families 6. Coordinate Earth Day events
