Bio
Originally from Ruidoso, New Mexico, Yelena Temple brings more than 30 years of experience to her classroom and her leadership role as Science Department Chair. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from New Mexico State University, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Mexico, and additional coursework in math and Spanish from Eastern New Mexico University. She teaches Health, Anatomy-Physiology, Infectious Disease, and Biology. Her earliest memories of learning include her own teachers who modeled the joy of discovery and hard work. Yelena enjoys life with her husband, Curt, and their two adult children, Marikka and Seth. She values St. Michael’s for its mission of faith and excellence and hopes her students remember her encouragement to think critically, act with integrity, and embrace curiosity.
