Bio

Santa Fe native Gabe Tafoya brings a love of music and a decade of teaching experience to St. Michael’s. He earned an Associate of Science in Computer Science from Santa Fe Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Music from the Santa Fe University of Art & Design, and a Master of Music in Music Education from the University of New Mexico. At St. Michael’s, he teaches Junior High Orchestra, String Orchestra I, and String Orchestra II Honors, building technical skill while fostering teamwork. His earliest memories of music education involved learning violin and realizing how much discipline and joy it required. Gabe values St. Michael’s for its dedication to the arts and the way music helps students find their voice. He hopes his students remember the joy of making music together and the confidence that comes from performance.
