Bio

A Santa Fe native, Deborah Garcia has spent nearly four decades sharing her love of faith and learning with students. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (K–8) from the College of Santa Fe and now teaches Theology 7 and Theology 8 at St. Michael’s. Her own love of teaching began in childhood, when she would line up her toys to play “school,” discovering the joy of explaining and encouraging others. At home, she enjoys the companionship of her chihuahuas, Sprinkles and Chika. Deborah treasures St. Michael’s for the way it blends Catholic identity with academic excellence, creating a community where every student belongs. She hopes her students remember her humor, compassion, and the lessons of faith that can guide them throughout life. With 39 years of teaching experience, she remains a source of wisdom and inspiration for the Horsemen community.
