Bio

Jonathan Moon, originally from San Bernardino, California, has dedicated nearly three decades to teaching and mentoring young people, with 26 of those years spent at St. Michael’s. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies with a minor in Secondary Education from New Mexico Highlands University and now teaches 8th Grade U.S. History, 8th Grade U.S. History Honors, 7th Grade New Mexico History, and World Geography. His love for teaching began when he first coached basketball, discovering the fulfillment that comes with guiding students not only in sport but also in character and responsibility. That passion translated seamlessly into the classroom, where he has spent his career helping students connect the past to the present and develop an informed worldview. Jonathan deeply values the supportive community of students and faculty at St. Michael’s and believes that spirit of collaboration is what makes the school special. His steady presence and dedication have inspired generations of Horsemen to think critically, live with integrity, and embrace lifelong learning.
