Bio

Based in Santa Fe, Dave Janecek has been inspiring students for more than three decades with his love of science and learning. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah and now teaches Physics, Astronomy, Guitar, and Physical Science at St. Michael’s. His curiosity about the natural world began in childhood and eventually grew into a lifelong vocation, blending science with creativity. Dave lives in Santa Fe with his wife, Kelly, and their daughter, Abby, and finds joy in balancing family life with teaching. Known for his easygoing style and sense of humor, he helps students see that science is not only rigorous but also rewarding and fun. With 36 years of classroom experience, he treasures the students most of all, and he hopes they remember that learning can be an adventure filled with discovery and confidence.
