Assignments week of August 31, 2015

(1) In class on Monday 8/31 we will finish reading "Primero de Secundaria" by Gary Soto. Students will re-read the whole story on their own during the second half of class today and copy out 15 key sentences into their notebooks. Using these sentences as a guide, they will write a seven-line summary of the story today in class. For tomorrow, they will add a second seven-line paragraph giving their impressions of the story. The two-paragraph assignment is due tomorrow at the beginning of class.

(2) For Wednesday, September 2nd students will do a 10-line verbal summary of the first four chapters of the "Destinos" Spanish video language learning series we have been watching. You may have a note card, but points will be taken off if you read your summary instead of presenting it orally.

(3) Memorization for Friday September 4th is from pg 48 in "Avancemos!" From "Anoche me di cuenta" at the beginning of the email down to "y me gusta mucho." You may exclude the sentence in parentheses.
