Girls Golf

SMHS Girls Golf Program strives to develop student-athletes to play competitive golf, to apply the honor and integrity of the game in high school tournaments, and to carry those qualities into the student-athlete’s life.   Although golf may be considered an individual sport, individual players’ scores count towards a team score.  The competitive goal is to have the best individual and team scores by practicing with purpose and being accountable to one another.  When this is done, the ultimate goals of qualifying for the State High School Golf Championship and playing well enough to earn a team trophy and individual medals are more likely to be achieved.

We do not lose sight of being encouraging and respectful to teammates as well as to competitors.

A lasting goal is for the student-athletes to enjoy their experience so they can enjoy golf for the rest of their lives.
