Bio
Originally from Las Vegas, New Mexico, Patricia Duran Eiker brings nearly 30 years of experience and a deep love of literature to St. Michael’s. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Mass Communications from New Mexico Highlands University and later received certification as a Library Media Specialist from New Mexico State University. Her passion for teaching began with her grandmother, who nurtured her love for reading and language at an early age. Today, Patricia teaches English 9, English 9 Honors, English 10, and English 10 Honors, encouraging students to think critically and discover the power of words. She enjoys life with her husband, Fred, and their children Jason, Sean, and Sara, as well as her grandchildren Zakaria, Ibtisam, Yusuf, and Bastian. She values St. Michael’s as a place where Catholic identity and academic rigor come together, and she hopes her students always remember that their voices matter and that literature can open doors. With 29 years of dedication to her students, Patricia continues to inspire with compassion, skill, and a love for lifelong learning.
