“I love that St. Michael’s High School is steeped in tradition,” says Patricia Durán Eiker in describing why she has taught here for more than twenty years. It is what attracted her to the school when she was looking for a place to student-teach in Santa Fe. She has taught all levels of English and moderated the yearbook staff during her tenure. She currently teaches 9th and 10th grade English.
She was born and raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico and graduated from Robertson High School. She attended New Mexico Highlands University and the University of New Mexico and graduated with degrees in English and Print/Broadcast Journalism. She also attended New Mexico State University to acquire certification in Library Science.
Her hobbies include reading, hiking and bicycling, but mostly she and her husband, Fred, love to play golf! She has an amazing stepson, Jason, who graduated in 2004 in California. She is also the proud mother of Sean and Sara Eiker, both of who graduated from St. Michael’s in 2008 and in 2010, respectively.
