if I was down in Corpus bowls or something to take Mike's is built around they are faith in the presence of God respect for all persons and inclusive community a quality education and concern for the poor and social justice out of those I think my favorite has to be respect because it's something that I feel here at Saint Mike's I filled it students and teachers respect each other and it. Respect is earned for each other I was a retired 25-year retired teacher and I actually started subbing and I loved it the kids were so kind to me and I really enjoyed subbing and then a full-time position opened up and I just couldn't turn it down I'm a very devout Catholic and I'm so blessed that I not only get to live my face that work but I get to share my faith with my students I was teaching at a Catholic elementary school and I needed a change I'd also been teaching at the community college I did I know a lot about they might but I knew parents who sent their children here and I thought it would be a good fit for me and it has been a good fit for 24 years and my sister paired me with rigorous coursework teachers who genuinely care about me I prepared me to work well with others to take accountability for my own education DeLaSalle started the Christian Brothers schools 400 years ago bass all of the teaching on building a relationship with a student needing them where they are and that's what we do in every aspect of our teaching Adele stop and ask you about your day or your about a competition that you've done it still check up on you they're always pushing me to do more always pushing me to you no stay after class get help things like that my English class were reading books that my own English teacher didn't read until she got the college so that we will be prepared when we get to College are focused on characters who embody those five core principles I would say my favorite core principle is inclusive community I think it's really important to have a variety of kids in a variety of just everything and just have everyone be so comfortable that they can be with each other and screensaver it's really interesting it's taught me a lot about being a leader and I've just learned that I love to leave and I love doing good for this community if you're not just here for yourself but you're here for everyone and every little thing you do affects the community in a gutter five ways of being a Horseman is really special car being at st. Mike's is being part of a long tradition in Santa Fe were over 150 years old so our on our current students and our alumni many of our students are 3rd and 4th generation students at Saint might include both my brothers my older brother graduate in 2022 and my brother with that's why you're older than me will graduate in one year in that her two children I feel like staying my cuz really poop show me for everything looking forward in life is extracurricular activities for example I'm in Cross Country like cross-country set me up a lot and that's probably one of the most funniest Christmas game experiences that I had it in my chest when you said family community care variety inquiry value feel like they're part of speech something bigger than themselves I think they weren't better I believe that every student can find a place that thing like there are many avenues for interest and good education preparing our kids for college and finding a place weather in the Music World of Sport world the activities world it's a good place to build communities for the whole family if you're a family that thinking about child to think you need to know that your child will receive a quality education but also a character education when I pass out papers to the king after school they tell me thank you they value their education graduating from State my is something that you can talk about the rest of your life because everyone knows it is a great achievement instead of just getting your high school education you're getting an education that centered around caring for others and overall just preparing you to be a good person and go off and change the world make the world a better place
